music and the virtually possible


I came across this extremely cool website...a virtual choir. A project spearheaded by composer and conductor Eric Whitacre, there are more than 100 voices from all over the world who are part of a virtual choir performance. It goes something like this: the chorister records him/herself on a webcam singing Whitacre's Lux Aurumquevirtually directed by Whitacre himself. In fact Whitacre gives a 9 minute preparation for each chorister. Once they are recorded, they upload to a site and Scott Haines cuts it together. Check it out at
