music and the virtually possible

I came across this extremely cool website...a virtual choir. A project spearheaded by composer and conductor Eric Whitacre, there are more than 100 voices from all over the world who are part of a virtual choir performance. It goes something like this: the chorister records him/herself on a webcam singing Whitacre's Lux Aurumquevirtually directed by Whitacre himself. In fact Whitacre gives a 9 minute preparation for each chorister. Once they are recorded, they upload to a site and Scott Haines cuts it together. Check it out at

peaceful presence now available

I'm thriled to announce that Peaceful Presence, album #7 in the Room 217 therapeutic music library is now available. We launched it at the Ontario Hospice Palliative Care Conference and also were able to take it with us to the Ontario Long Term Care Association Conference last week. Lots of good response.

One care receiver, who uses our music and got an early copy, writes:

Many thanks for the copy of your latest album, Peaceful Presence. You were right about the flugelhorn. What a compliment to your styling and the organ. I have listened thru twice and talked about it to one of my home care nurses. Congrats, another solid success for Room 217!

My hope is that people who listen to this recording will feel surrounded by a deep sense of peace, comfort and care.
